The Latest Bass Reports for August 2004

Last Update 8-31-2004

August 29, 2004 Bob Kirker

Bob took his sons, and some co workers out for a day of bass fishing.  Beautiful weather day, and plenty of fish to go around.    (pic1)  (pic2)

August 28, 2004 Paul Mara

Rough sea conditions made the fishing difficult, the guys hung in there and did a great job.  Hope to see them next year on a better weather day.   (pic1)

August 28, 2004 Justin VanWie

A rough night before and rough sea conditions don't mix.  But they managed to catch a lot of nice fish.   (pic1)

August 27, 2004 Bill Mitchell and family

Bonito fishing was just what the doctor ordered.  The two girls did a very great! job reeling in the fish.  The windy conditions kept us close to shore, but caught a lot of fish.

August 27, 2004 Jim St. Germain

These guys smoked the bass.  Caught a lot of nice fish.  We apologize the camera was on the blink, would have had some nice pics.

August 23, 2004  Andy Donellon and family

A Bluebird weather day. Caught six nice big fish, and the rest was gravy.  The kids did a great job!  The Big Striped Bass of fall season are starting to show.  (pic1)  (pic2)  (pic3)

August 21, 2004 Adam Slifka

Gale force winds kept us close to the harbor.  Caught some fish any way.

August 20, 2004  Ron Bresse

Big sea swells turned on the fish and they limited out. Steady on fish all afternoon.  (pic1)  (pic2)

August 19, 2004 Chris Mihos

Rough undercurrents shut off the fish.  A lot of blue fish about made it hard to catch any bass.   Great attitudes from the guys, and never gave up.  Hope to see them back in the Spring.  (pic1)  (pic2)

August 18, 2004  Peter Prudden

These young guys jigged hard, and managed to get some nice fish.  Peter has the bragging rights with the fish of the day!  (pic1)  (pic2)

August 15, 2004 Rescheduled due to weather

August August 14, 2004  Jack Stone

This afternoon, more wind and stronger tides from the potential weather threats made the bass harder to locate. The guys had to work hard, and ended up catching a few nice bass.  Great job!   (pic1)  (pic2)

August 14, 2004 Jennifer Birnbaum

Jennifer treated her boyfriend Jim, with a fishing trip on Cape Cod, for his birthday.  They have fished on boats around the world, and enjoyed the morning on the Eastwind.  Sunny weather, in spite of the threats of hurricane associated conditions approaching.  Tons of blue fish have inundated the shoals, but they persevered and caught some nice fish. August 13, 2004 Rescheduled due to weather

August 11, 2004 Ed Luffman

Choppy seas brought in more blue fish than we like to see, but managed to cut through them and caught some nice bass.  The Eastwind was the only boat out. All the rest of the charter boats stayed at the dock because of the rough seas. Duffy boats are known for stability, and it's reputation stands true on days like this.  Our anglers where quite comfortable, and did a great job fishing.  (pic1)

August 9, 2004  Mike Folger and family

Morgan, Matt and Brandon did a great job for their first time fishing.  When they weren't satisfied with jigging they switched over to top water.  The blitz was on, with great action and some giant blue fish.

August 8, 2004 Chuck McGurr

Chucks 2nd time out this season.  This afternoon there were a lot  of fish, in spite of choppy sea conditions.

August 7, 2004 Frank Wiza ~ Clayco Construction

On fish all day!  The girls caught the big fish.  Beautiful weather and calm seas made this the perfect for all.  Cant wait to come back.  (pic1)  (pic2)

August 6, 2004 Jim Eisenhauer ~ Cox Engineering

More wind this afternoon.  Fishing was picky.  They worked hard for a few nice fish. (pic1)

August 6, 2004 Mike Roof ~ MJR Plastering Co.

This is the second time out this season for this group.  Not ideal weather, but the fishing was good and they caught a lot of fish.  (pic1)  (pic2)

August 1,  2004   Bill Riley

Bill has been fishing on other charter boats for the past 20 years.  For his first time on the Eastwind, he and his friends caught the  biggest striped bass ever.  They said they would definitely be back.   (pic1)
